Juventus Shopping for a Fullback in the Premier League

Juventus addressed the right-back position in January, signing Emil Holm on loan with an option to buy, but he quickly got hurt, so the officials must wait to assess whether he’s worth the €15M fee to retain him and are scouting other options in England, such as Michael Kayode and Djed Spence.

According to TuttoSport, the Bianconeri have been keeping tabs on the former Fiorentina starlet. He headed to Brentford for €18M in January 2025. He has 47 appearances with his current team, recording two assists. Gennaro Gattuso is monitoring him ahead of the World Cup playoffs. He had bloomed with the Viola, but they preferred leaning on Dodo.

Juventus would have to shell out roughly €30M for either Kayode or Spence. Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady has a tight rapport with Tottenham, and a few Spurs players could depart in the summer. The 25-year-old is right-footed but can play on either side of the pitch. He has featured 76 times with the London-based franchise after spending time at Fulham, Middlesbrough, Rennes, and Nottingham Forest.

He played for half a season at Genoa, which were helmed by current Bianconeri director Marco Ottolini at the time. He was serviceable but too pricey to be redeemed. A large investment could likely lead to a sale. Pierre Kalulu and Andrea Cambiaso both have suitors.

Our Take on Juventus, Kayode, and Spence

There’s still a chance Holm proves to be adequate. Selling Kalulu should be a non-starter, while Cambiaso is having another maddeningly up-and-down, mostly down, season. He’d have to be replaced by a lefty, though. Zeki Celik or Oscar Mingueza on a free would be perfectly fine for the role they’d have.
