Juventus show great form with a confident win against Atalanta | OneFootball

Juventus earned a superb 2-0 win against Atalanta as they built on their 5-0 win against NEC in the Europa League to maintain the positive feeling around the club.

The men at the Allianz Stadium have been one of the top teams in Italy so far, although inconsistency has also been a major issue for them. As a result, fans have not always known what to expect from the Bianconeri.

However, Juventus started the match as the better side against an Atalanta team struggling with its own identity under Maurizio Sarri. It was clear from the early stages that Juve were the more stable team.

Conceicao puts Juventus ahead

Less than half an hour into the match, Juventus secured the lead through Francisco Conceicao, who had been a problem for Atalanta from the beginning of the game.

Against NEC, Juve showed they had the ability to keep pushing after scoring, and they had to demonstrate that quality again after taking the lead, with Atalanta looking for an equaliser.

Atalanta had also given a good account of themselves at times before Juventus took the lead and attempted to fight their way back into the contest. However, Juve remained ahead at the break.

Zhegrova makes an impact

When the teams returned for the second half, Juventus had grown in confidence, and that improvement was also evident in their defending. However, they still needed another goal to give themselves greater security.

That second goal arrived after the introduction of Edon Zhegrova, who made an immediate impact after replacing Conceicao. Just five minutes after coming onto the pitch, Zhegrova provided the assist for Bremer to score Juventus’ second goal.

The goal gave Juve the advantage they needed to manage the remainder of the match. Atalanta continued to compete, but Juventus held on to secure an important 2-0 victory.

The result allows Juventus to build further momentum after their impressive European victory. Their recent performances have also provided a positive response to concerns over inconsistency, although maintaining that level will remain important as the season continues.
