Juventus step up secret Osimhen talks

Juventus have reignited their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, with multiple reports from Sky Sport, TuttoJuve, and Bianconera News suggesting that the Serie A giants are in ongoing contact with the Napoli striker’s representatives to gauge the feasibility of a deal.

According to Marco Demicheli of Sky Sport, the interest in Osimhen dates back to the tenure of director Cristiano Giuntoli and remains active under the current leadership of Damien Comolli. Juventus are currently focused on assessing both the player’s willingness to move to Turin and the financial structure required for such an operation. Osimhen, who commands a net salary in excess of €8-9 million per season, would represent a major investment. Only if Juventus can reach a personal agreement would they attempt to negotiate terms with Napoli.

Napoli, for their part, continue to refer to the €75 million release clause stipulated for foreign buyers, a figure Italian sources say remains prohibitive for Juventus. Paolo Paganini of Rai Sport noted via RBN that “the clause is simply too high for the Bianconeri at this time.” However, one potential avenue involves waiting until later in the summer. If Osimhen is still at Napoli closer to the start of the season and no other clubs have met the buyout figure, Juventus may press for a deal at a lower price—possibly in the region of €60-65 million—framing themselves as a solution should Napoli want to avoid a last-minute loan or unresolved situation.

Adding another twist, Osimhen has reportedly turned down substantial offers from Saudi clubs, clearly prioritizing a continued career in Europe. Paganini states the player “wants to remain in Europe and within Italy has chosen Juventus,” underlining the club’s appeal for the striker and their resumed push for his signature.

Yet the move is complicated by Juventus’ current attacking puzzle. The club are also actively working to sign Jonathan David from Lille, with Ciro Venerato of Rai Sport suggesting David is still likely to arrive in Turin even if Dusan Vlahovic stays. Conversely, should Vlahovic, who is on a reported €12 million net salary, be sold, Juventus’ pursuit of Osimhen could accelerate—but so far, moving the Serbian forward remains a tall order.

Negotiations are ongoing and complex. David’s arrival looks to be independent of Vlahovic’s future, but Kolo Muani’s position could be affected by the final makeup of the squad. Reflecting the cautious optimism in Turin, Demicheli’s analysis points out that Juventus may be “trying to solve a problem” for Napoli should the right market openings materialize.

For now, regular talks with Osimhen’s agents continue as Juventus hope for a market scenario in which Napoli soften their stance and the player’s desire lines up with the club’s ambitions.
