Darryl Bakola is one of several Sassuolo players on Juventus’ radar, and their head-to-head clash at the weekend provided an excellent opportunity for the youngster to impress.

The 18-year-old was a doubt for the match after a muscle injury forced him to miss Sassuolo’s previous game and part of their preparation for the clash against the Bianconeri.

Juventus were among the clubs interested in signing Bakola during the summer, but Sassuolo managed to keep him in their squad for another campaign. The midfielder is now focused on continuing his development and becoming a better player.

So far, Bakola has mostly been a regular for Sassuolo, starting all but their last three competitive matches. He missed those fixtures because of his injury, but has now returned to action.

Bakola impresses against Juventus

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Bakola passed his audition for a potential role at Juventus with an impressive performance after coming off the bench against the Bianconeri.

The midfielder played only 35 minutes of normal time, but he still managed to make a significant contribution. He provided an assist for one of the goals that helped Sassuolo defeat Juventus, giving the club another reason to take notice of his performance.

His involvement came at an important moment, as Sassuolo secured a 3 2 victory over the Bianconeri. For Bakola, the appearance offered a chance to demonstrate his quality against a club that had already shown an interest in signing him.

Juventus could return for Bakola

A January move to Turin may not happen, but Juventus could consider making another approach in the summer. His latest performance will give them more information about his development and his ability to perform at this level.

The possibility of a summer transfer could become more realistic if Juventus sell some of their current midfielders. Bakola’s age, regular involvement for Sassuolo and performance against the Bianconeri could all contribute to continued interest.

For now, the midfielder remains focused on Sassuolo, where he has another opportunity to establish himself and continue developing before Juventus decide whether to make a move.
