Juventus to Face Big Roster-Related Calls in the Summer

Whether Thiago Motta will stay or not, Juventus will be active in the summer and will have to decide about several players who have underperformed this campaign, including a few they signed just last year, Calciomercato informs.

The Bianconeri have very few certainties to restart form. Michele Di Gregorio has done well even when his defense has faltered. Pierre Kalulu will be redeemed from Milan for €14M. Francisco Conceiçao will stay permanently, either activating his €30M release clause or in another way.

Juventus have three expensive flops on their hands: Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners, and Nicolas Gonzalez. The former Aston Villa star could become a bargaining chip and head back to the Premier League. They are unlikely to receive good enough offers to avoid big losses for the other two. They’ll probably stay, hoping for rosier times, perhaps under a different manager.

Qualifying for the Champions League will be pivotal to determine the strategy. If the Old Lady misses out, it’ll have to cash in on a few players to raise funds. Andrea Cambiaso is the top option, as Manchester City could return with a larger offer. Kenan Yildiz has plenty of deep-pocketed suitors. Or they could do it through smaller sales, for instance, Samuel Mbangula, Nicolò Savona, or even Federico Gatti. The center-back has been a fixture but could fall victim to their plans to bolster the defense and would be a sizeable ‘plusvalenza.’

Despite the obligation to buy, Lloyd Kelly will have to prove he belongs at Juventus. The same goes for Randal Kolo Muani, who hasn’t scored in a long while.
