The recent contacts between Juventus, PSG, and Tottenham haven’t sufficed to unlock the return of Randal Kolo Muani to Turin. The Spurs have little interest in ending their loan spell early, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The fact that the striker came up big in the recent UEFA Champions League games doesn’t work in the Bianconeri’s favor. Moreover, the Spurs aren’t actively searching for a replacement for now. While the Frenchman hasn’t been very productive, he’s a regular.
At the same time, Kolo Muani is pushing to reunite with Juventus, and Tottenham are unlikely to retain him at the end of the season. The pursuit will go down to the wire. The Old Lady has to negotiate with PSG too, but it’s not considered a major hurdle. The formula should be straightforward and kick the can down the road.
The Bianconeri will pivot only in the last couple of days of the window if their attempts continue to be in vain. They won’t add just because. Luciano Spalletti has asked for either a physical striker or a pure goal poacher. They are being offered a few options, for instance, Fenerbahce’s Jhon Duran and Joshua Zirkzee, who’s being shopped around by his entourage, even though it’s not that easy to persuade Manchester United. However, they don’t fit the mold completely.
Considering that they tend to always end up in protracted sagas, which is somewhat natural when you’re not throwing money around, they might have moved too late to come to terms with two separate teams. A name out of the blue, like Lois Openda in the summer, could be in the cards.
