France women’s international Kadidiatou Diani, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired last week, has decided to join league rivals Lyon, according to a report from Le Parisien.

The 28-year-old, who was named the top flight’s player of the year this past campaign, will be leaving PSG after six seasons, having initially joined from formative club Paris FC (then FCF Juvisy). She leaves the capital with one league winners’ medal and two Coupe de France wins.

As they prepare to lose one half of the prolific attacking partnership that was formed with Marie-Antoinette Katoto, PSG are expected to make a move for Inter’s Malawian forward Tabitha Chawinga, Le Parisien add.

Diani, who was one of the vocal opponents to former national team coach Corinne Diacre in the midst of a player exodus in spring, will be one of Les Bleues‘ key players as they kick off their World Cup campaign in Australia later this month. Their first group stage match pits the team against Jamaica, on July 23.
