Kaio César teed up Memphis Depay as Corinthians drew 1-1 with Santos in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, a result that lifted him to second in the club’s 2026 assist rankings. According to Meu Timao, the forward now has three appearances and two assists this year.
The No 37 had been sidelined since 5 February, when he was injured in the 3-0 win over Capivariano. He missed eight matches with a right hamstring issue, began his reintegration early March and was only cleared to feature in Sunday’s Clássico Alvinegro.
Despite the lay-off, his first assist had already arrived on debut in the Supercopa do Brasil final against Flamengo. He back-heeled for Yuri Alberto, who lifted the ball over Rossi to seal a 2-0 victory.
On Sunday he played 63 minutes and completed 12 of 16 passes. After 18 minutes he carried a counter launched by André from the Corinthians area, advanced from halfway and slipped Depay between two markers. The Dutchman controlled, beat two defenders and found the left corner past Brazão.
That assist moved him past nine team-mates, leaving only Rodrigo Garro ahead on three. He could add to his tally on Thursday against Chapecoense in the Campeonato Brasileiro, though he may start on the bench with expectation that Yuri Alberto returns after the injury sustained against São Bernardo on 15 February.
