Corinthians visit Coritiba on Sunday at 19:30 in round 24 of the Campeonato Brasileiro, a Couto Pereira return for Kaio César against the club that developed him.
According to Meu Timao, it will be his first outing at the stadium in almost three years. He last played there for Coritiba in the 2023 finale against Corinthians, a 2-0 win sealed by Fausto Vera and Romero.
A graduate of Coritiba’s academy from age 14, the winger scored three goals in 36 senior games. He joined Vitória de Guimarães on loan in early 2024, and the option was taken up after four goals and eight assists in 47 outings. In January 2025 he moved to Al-Hilal for €10 million.
In Saudi Arabia he made 40 appearances, contributing four goals and five assists. Seeking more minutes and with a high salary, he was loaned to Corinthians, who beat other Brazilian clubs to the deal.
He supplied an assist on debut in the 2-0 win over Flamengo that secured the 2026 Supercopa in Brasília. His Corinthians record since stands at 24 games, two goals and two assists.
In this second half of the year he has broken into the starting side, beginning eight of nine recent matches while Yuri Alberto is injured and Memphis Depay’s contract remains unresolved. Fernando Diniz praised his development after the Libertadores qualification against Rosario Central on Thursday.
He could make a seventh successive start if selected.
