According to BuLi News, Kaiserslautern are set to sign Matej Maglica from Darmstadt after lengthy negotiations.
The move would be among the biggest 2. Bundesliga deals of the summer. The goal-scoring centre-back was left out of Darmstadt’s matchday squad against Holstein Kiel.
The 27-year-old Croat initially joined Darmstadt on loan from VfB Stuttgart in 2023. He scored six goals last season as Florian Kohfeldt’s side finished fifth in 2. Bundesliga.
Without Maglica, Darmstadt came from two goals down to earn a point at home against Kiel earlier today. Kaiserslautern began their 2. Bundesliga campaign with a goalless draw away at overwhelming promotion candidates Wolfsburg.
"It is well known that we’re not certain about where Matej (Maglica) will play by the end of the transfer market. He is currently in talks about a possible change," confirmed Darmstadt’s sporting director Paul Fernie on Saturday.
