Inter progress to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia after beating Torino 2-1 at the U-Power Stadium in Monza in the quater-finals. Goals from Ange-Yoan Bonny and Andy Diouf proved decisive, giving the Nerazzurri another night in the spotlight in the national cup.
Inter continues to make history in the Coppa Italia. With this win, the Nerazzurri reach the semi-finals for the 19th time in the last 30 seasons, no other team has done better over the same period.
Andy Diouf’s goal also highlights an impressive attacking stat: Inter has the highest number of players to have scored at least three goals across all competitions this season. Nine Nerazzurri appear in this special ranking, more than any other team.
The 2-1 victory over Torino also marks Inter’s eighth consecutive win against the Granata across all competitions, a streak never before achieved in the history of this matchup, surpassing the seven straight victories recorded between 2002 and 2008.
Lastly, the Nerazzurri have once again secured at least four consecutive wins across all competitions for the first time since last November, when they recorded four straight victories in Serie A and the Champions League.
It was a big night for Ange-Yoan Bonny. The 2003-born forward scored for the second time in his last four official appearances, matching the total number of goals he had scored in his previous 15 games across Serie A, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia. The young Nerazzurri is currently in good form and he has scored in two consecutive home games for the first time since his arrival in Italy.
A night to remember: Issiaka Kamate and Matteo Cocchi were key figures in the 2-1 victory over Torino in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. For Kamate, born in 2004, it was his first official appearance for the Nerazzurri after gaining experience in friendly matches. Cocchi, meanwhile, made his third overall appearance with the First Team: following his Champions League debut last season, he also made his second Coppa Italia appearance of the campaign.
Issiaka Kamate also made his mark in the Nerazzurri records with a notable achievement. At 21 years and 186 days old, he became the youngest foreign player to provide an assist for Inter across all competitions since Lautaro Martínez, who managed the feat against Frosinone on November 24, 2018, at 21 years and 94 days.
Andy Diouf and Marcus Thuram shone in the win over Torino. The midfielder has scored twice in his last three official appearances, the same number he had in his previous 59 games combined for Inter and Lens, highlighting a his effectiveness in front of goal.
Marcus Thuram has also been impressive in creating chances. The French forward has provided three assists in his last seven games for Inter across all competitions, equaling the total he managed in his previous 42 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
