Will Harry Kane stay at FC Bayern beyond the summer? This question is on the minds of fans and managers alike – not least because of the much-discussed exit clause in the England international’s contract
It has been an open secret for months that Kane has an exit option in his contract, which runs until 2027. The rumoured transfer fee is between 60 and 70 million euros. However, it was recently unclear until when this clause could even be drawn
The German newspaper kicker had reported that Kane had until the end of February to activate the option. According to this, clubs from the Premier League as well as Saudi Arabia are said to have expressed their interest. A scenario that certainly caused unease in Munich

According to BILD’s head of soccer Christian Falk, the situation is completely different. In the „Bayern Insider“ podcast, he clearly contradicted the February version. „I checked again: the clause definitely expired in January,“ explained Falk. „Harry Kane deliberately let it expire. Clubs from Saudi Arabia are of little interest to him at the moment. It’s not hot, he’s not on the market.“
According to Falk, the likelihood of the 32-year-old also appearing in the record champions‘ shirt next season is „relatively high“. An extension beyond 2027 is still an issue at Säbener Straße
Sporting director Max Eberl also appeared in front of the microphones before the cup match against RB Leipzig and provided a sober update. „We are talking, that doesn’t mean that negotiations have started. We are in intensive discussions with Harry and the next steps will follow,“ said the 52-year-old
Eberl also emphasized that talks with a leading player like Kane are a matter of course. „Of course FC Bayern would always talk to Harry Kane – but then just about moments, about games, about situations, about the importance of a phase of the season. That’s normal.“
He did not want to comment specifically on external speculation. „I can’t say anything about what is now being speculated around us again, that someone is preparing something,“ Eberl clarified. „I can only say that we are in intensive communication with Harry, as far as he is concerned, as far as our success is concerned.“
Ultimately, there are growing signs that Kane wants to stay in Munich – and that FC Bayern are doing everything they can to tie his goalscorer down for the long term. The confusion surrounding the clause continues to make headlines, but in sporting terms, Kane is fully in the focus of the treble dream.
