Harry Kane could be back in action for FC Bayern in the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid. Sporting director Max Eberl has given a clear update after the win in Freiburg. Hopes are growing at the record champions that the goalscorer will play again.
„The physios are working on it. He is constantly on the pitch and is being looked after. We believe it will work,“ explained Max Eberl after the 3-2 win at SC Freiburg. FC Bayern are working hard to get the Englishman fit in time.
Coach Vincent Kompany was also confident: „In terms of feeling, he’ll make it.“ Joshua Kimmich went one step further and emphasized the importance of the attacker: „He’ll also be playing with a wheelchair. I expect him to be fit on the pitch on Tuesday.“
Kane missed the game in Freiburg due to ankle problems, which had already occurred during the international phase when the 32-year-old had to pull out of training early and was subsequently left out of the squad.

Even before the Bundesliga match, there were cautiously optimistic tendencies from the striker’s entourage. Internally, the situation was assessed more as a precautionary measure following swelling, and no concrete diagnoses were made public. Most recently, the attacker mainly completed individual units. In addition to treatments, the focus was on light exertion, while he still missed team training for the time being.
Kompany also rotated the squad for the away win in Freiburg. Michael Olise and Konrad Laimer only came on in the second half, while Dayot Upamecano was rested. Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies, on the other hand, made their return during the second half.
With a view to the clash in Madrid, the focus at FC Bayern remains clearly on Kane. Eberl once again made his fundamental stance clear: „I’m basically a positive-thinking person.“
