Harry Kane continues to chase the biggest trophies in world soccer. Now the Bayern striker talks openly about his goals – and why a title is more important than 100 goals.
With a tally of 23 goals in just 17 competitive matches, Harry Kane is once again the focal point of FC Bayern’s attack this season. The attacker also impressed in 2025 in the England national team shirt with seven goals in eight appearances. In an interview with the Mirror, the 32-year-old has now spoken about his chances of winning the prestigious Ballon d’Or.
„I could score 100 goals this season, but if I don’t win the Champions League or the World Cup, I probably won’t win the Ballon d’Or,“ explained Kane. Titles are clearly more important to him than individual statistics anyway.

Kane made it clear that great success with club and national team is the key to being named world footballer: „But if everything goes well for my club and my country, I’ll definitely be in the conversation for a trophy like the Ballon d’Or.“ The same standards would also apply to competitors like Erling Haaland, he emphasized: „You have to win these big titles.“
The Three Lions captain believes FC Bayern are well placed in the race for Europe’s crown. „We definitely seem to be one of the favourites for the Champions League. That might improve my chances a little. The same goes for England. I think we’ll go into the tournament as one of the favourites.“ Kane has already secured his ticket to the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico with England thanks to a flawless qualifying campaign.
The last Ballon d’Or in September was won by a former BVB star, Ousmane Dembélé, who won the league, cup and Champions League treble with Paris Saint-Germain, scoring an impressive 33 goals in the process.
