Harry Kane remains a consistent scorer even in the England national team jersey. The Bayern star scored another goal in the 2-0 win over the Czech Republic.

Harry Kane has confirmed his strong form on the international stage as well. The FC Bayern striker scored in the English national team’s 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic, helping the Three Lions secure their first points of the new Nations League season.

Thomas Tuchel’s team had already come under pressure following their 2-3 opening-match loss to world champions Spain. In Prague, the English got off to a better start but had to be patient for a long time despite having a man advantage early on.

Morgan Rogers was unlucky in the 16th minute, hitting only the post. Shortly afterward, the hosts weakened their own position: Pavel Zulc committed a rough foul on Elliot Anderson and was sent off in the 25th minute. The referee had initially shown only a yellow card but, following a VAR review, corrected his decision to a red card.

By halftime, however, England had been unable to convert their numerical advantage into goals.

Kane Seals the Deal

That changed immediately after the break. Anthony Gordon put the Three Lions ahead in the 47th minute, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. Then it was Kane’s turn to shine.

The 33-year-old scored the 2–0 goal in the 69th minute, effectively sealing the victory. For the Bayern Munich forward, it was already his second goal of the current Nations League season. Kane had also scored against Spain, though he missed a penalty kick in that match.

In the meantime, England had another lucky break when Ladislav Krejci hit only the post of his own goal during a botched clearance attempt in the 62nd minute.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also made a comeback. The Real Madrid defender took the field for the English national team for the first time in over a year, after being dropped from the squad ahead of the World Cup.

Kane and the Three Lions will continue their campaign on Saturday with an away match in Croatia. The return leg against the Czech Republic will follow just three days later.
