West Brom have completed the permanent signing of Spanish winger Kareem Tunde from Levante, the 21-year-old agreeing a four-year contract.

He met his new team-mates at St James’ Park, attending the 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday night. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the package is around £4 million, with about £2.5 million paid initially.

Tunde is James Morrison’s eighth addition of the summer window. He said he is excited to join a big club and sees the move as a chance to experience football and life in a new country.

He added that the group feels in a positive place, he has been warmly received, and he cannot wait to play in front of the fans.

Tunde spent three years in Espanyol’s youth system before switching to Barcelona’s La Masia, then joined Levante in 2022 and impressed with their B team, scoring two goals in 48 league appearances.

His first-team debut arrived in December last year as a second-half substitute in a goalless draw with Real Sociedad. He featured 21 times for Levante last season, registering one assist, and started in defeats at Barcelona and Real Madrid.

In total he has 22 La Liga appearances for Levante, and played 14 minutes off the bench in their 3-0 opening-day loss at Espanyol on 16 August.
