Karim Benzema returns to Real Madrid after picking up injury | OneFootball

Real Madrid icon Karim Benzema has on Wednesday linked back up with the club.

As much was confirmed in a statement released by Benzema’s current employers, Al-Ittihad, late this evening.

Frontman Benzema, for his part, has been forced to sit out each of Al-Ittihad’s last two outings, most recently watching on as his side were sent packing from the King Cup at the hands of Al-Hilal on Tuesday.

This comes after the Frenchman was dealt a fresh blow by way of an injury, amid what has proven a difficult campaign to date in Saudi Arabia.

And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, Benzema has departed Jeddah, in an effort to gain a better understanding of the nature of his issue.

As revealed across Al-Ittihad’s social media platforms late this evening, the club’s star hitman has flown to Spain, to undergo a series of tests and scans at former club Real Madrid’s Valdebebas base:

“Karim Benzema has returned to Real Madrid to undergo medical examinations regarding the injury he suffered this season, in communication between the medical staff of Al-Ittihad and Real Madrid.”

Los Blancos are also expected to provide a helping hand to Benzema in his treatment process.
