Karim Benzema sidelined by adductor issue, could miss several Al-Hilal matches

Karim Benzema, the 2022 Ballon d'Or, has suffered an adductor injury and could miss several matches for Al-Hilal. Further assessment is pending.

The club said in a statement that he would not travel with the squad to Al-Qassim to face Al-Taawoon, adding that a scan on Tuesday will determine the extent of the issue.

Transferred at the start of the month, the 38-year-old has already suffered a first setback. After a dispute with Al-Ittihad, he joined rival Al-Hilal in the final hours of the winter transfer window.

He marked his debut with a hat-trick and an assist in a 6-0 win over Al-Okhdoud.

He was not decisive in the next two matches, against El-Ettifaq 2-0 and Al-Ittihad 1-1.
