Manchester United have entered a heated race to sign Levante UD ace Karl Etta Eyong.

Life under Ruben Amorim appears to be constantly improving, with Man United winning three games in a row following their impressive 4-2 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

At the heart of this triumph was a highly effective attacking lineup, with the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko finding their groove.

Still, the team will need some attacking reinforcements, particularly if injuries and other issues result in players’ unavailability.

With Sesko currently United’s only natural striker, it seems that United could be in the market for a player who would be his ideal deputy.

Targeting Karl Etta Eyong

The Peoples Person previously relayed that United are interested in signing Eyong.

Given the Levante forward’s €30 million buyout clause, Eyong appears to be an affordable player who would greatly bolster United’s attacking lineup.

What is particularly useful about Eyong is his versatility. Capable of playing as a striker, the 22 year old can back up Sesko, particularly since it seems that Joshua Zirkzee is headed for the exit door.

He can also fit in as an attacking midfielder, covering for the likes of Cunha and Mbeumo as well as Mason Mount, which is useful given that Amad Diallo seems to be Amorim’s wing-back of choice.

Still, signing Eyong could prove more challenging than expected.

Premier League race

Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) reported that Arsenal and Manchester City are looking to compete with United for Eyong’s signature.

This is in addition to the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, who could also enter the race for the Levante star.

Ultimately, Eyong could prove to be a decent asset for United to add to their ranks, particularly if he is available for an audacious January swoop.
