Kayke made a second straight start for Corinthians on Sunday, a 0-0 derby with Palmeiras, ending an eight-month wait for back-to-back appearances.

According to Meu Timao, his previous run came in August 2025, covering for Yuri Alberto, who had hernia surgery, and Memphis Depay, sidelined with a right thigh problem. He started three games, a 2-1 loss to Bahia, wins over Vasco da Gama 3-2 and Athletico-PR 1-0, partnered Gui Negão without scoring, then yielded to Memphis before the next Palmeiras meeting.

The new sequence began last Thursday in Fernando Diniz’s first match in charge, Corinthians’ 2026 Libertadores opener against Argentina’s Platense. Kayke scored the first goal in a 2-0 win. Memphis Depay is recovering from an anterior right thigh injury sustained against Flamengo on 22 March.

Against Palmeiras he again partnered Yuri Alberto, playing 83 minutes before Jesse Lingard came on. He posted 95% pass accuracy, 19/20, and had one shot on target saved by Carlos Miguel.

The 21-year-old debuted for the senior side in January 2024, in Corinthians’ only Majestoso defeat at Neo Química Arena. In 2026 he has 11 appearances, two more than last year, with five wins and six draws, and is among the team’s top scorers on two goals.

He is available to Fernando Diniz for Wednesday’s home game with Colombia’s Independiente Santa Fe at 21:30, the second round of Group E in the Copa Libertadores.
