Kayne Van Oevelen is set to join Valencia on a season-long loan from Ipswich Town, with the 23-year-old due to arrive on Wednesday.
According to Superdeporte, Valencia will pay a loan fee and Ipswich have refused a purchase option, having invested four million in the Dutch goalkeeper. The English club decided two weeks ago to find him a loan to secure the minutes Gary O'Neil had promised for his first Premier League experience.
Valencia had made him their top target given his projection and physique, but a two million cap for a challenger to Stole Dimitrievski prevented a permanent deal despite terms being agreed to June 2031, the contract he then signed with Ipswich.
Standing 1.99m, he will sign for one season at Mestalla and is expected to start work under Carlos Corberan on Thursday or Friday after medicals. He could be registered to sit on the bench against Celta on Saturday at 7.30pm if selected.
With Dimitrievski and Van Oevelen contesting the gloves, Valencia aim to raise standards in goal and tighten their defence this season.
Cristian Rivero is earmarked to depart, while Valencia Mestalla's Raul Jimenez would act as third-choice and play regularly for the reserves.
Vicent Abril now has the green light to leave on loan, with Nàstic de Tarragona of Primera RFEF set to take him for 26/27. He did not train in Paterna on Tuesday as his move was unlocked by the Ipswich agreement.
