Italy and Fiorentina youngster Michael Kayode is one of several right-backs currently being monitored by Premier League giants Liverpool in the event that England star Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves for Real Madrid in the summer, according to Friday’s reports.
According to updates from CaughtOffside, Liverpool have hit a stumbling block in negotiations with Alexander-Arnold over a new contract. His current deal is set to expire this summer.
There are several full-backs that could be of interest to Liverpool if Alexander-Arnold does leave, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong and Vanderson of Monaco, but 20-year-old Kayode has also been linked.
Kayode impressed when he made his Fiorentina breakthrough as a teenager last season, ending the season with a goal and two assists from 26 Serie A appearances at right-back. There had also been reported interest from Arsenal and Inter over the last two transfer windows.
The 20-year-old is currently an Italy U21 international, and is part of the current Azzurrini squad to face their Irish counterparts in a crucial EUROs qualifier on Tuesday night.
