Keanu Baccus says he is unsure about his future at St Mirren amid interest from several clubs including Rangers, Norwich City, Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City.

The 24-year-old joined the Scottish outfit last summer from Western Sydney Wanderers, and he has made an impressive start to life at the SMISA Stadium.

He has played a key role in helping the Saints finish sixth in the Scottish Premiership with 46 points from 38 matches.

The young midfielder made 36 appearances in all competitions, bagging two goals and two assists. He averaged 2.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 1.0 clearances per game in the Premiership.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, and he is now being linked with several clubs.

According to The Herald, Rangers, Norwich, Huddersfield and Cardiff are all keen to secure his services.

However, the Australian doesn’t want to think about his future now and is looking forward to some rest after the final game of the 2022-23 season on Saturday.

“It’s been a tremendous year – everyone in there really welcomed me from the get-go,” he said. “That gave me the chance to do my thing. Ultimately we wanted more after the split, but it wasn’t to be.

“It’s tough coming here – the winters are very different to back home in Oz! Especially when I was coming from Dubai and Qatar – they were so hot. It really took a lot of time to learn, but I’ve got a year under my belt now.

“I’m going to relax for a week and then get back into things. I’ll see where the future takes me, but who knows?”

St Mirren were excellent earlier in the season, enjoying a 12-game unbeaten run at the SMISA Stadium between August and January.

However, they failed to continue their good form and struggled for consistency during the second half of the campaign.

Stephen Robinson’s men secured only two points from their last seven league matches.

However, they have had an excellent season overall as they achieved their first top-six finish in the Premiership since 1985.
