Throughout last Friday, August 29, goalkeeper Matheus Roger, who was part of the Corinthians Under-20 squad, posted a farewell to the club on his social media. Born in 2005, at 20 years old, he was on loan to Avaí's Under-20 team since July 2024, where he was the starter in the 2025 Copinha competition.
After the loan ended, he participated in training with the Filhos do Terrão Under-20 but ended up leaving the club. His contract with Alvinegro was set to expire in March 2026, and according to Meu Timão, both parties reached an amicable agreement for the contract termination.

At the beginning of 2024, he was registered for the Copinha competition but was called at the time by coach Mano Menezes to join the main team's training as they prepared for that year's Paulistão. Goalkeeper Matheus Donelli had been called up for that year's Pre-Olympic competition with Brazil.
Combining his time in Corinthians' Under-17 and Under-20, he played in only seven matches (six in the younger category), achieving five wins, one draw, and just one loss. Matheus Roger became the 37th departure from Alvinegro's youth system since the management change, with Osmar Stabile assuming the presidency.
On his social media, the goalkeeper posted a message directed at Corinthians: “Today marks the end of a cycle where I made friendships, fulfilled dreams, and learned from masters. I am very grateful to God and Corinthians for providing me with so many opportunities and experiences. Here I fulfilled many dreams, and I will be eternally grateful for having lived all of them. Thank you very much, Corinthians!” Click here to see the post.
