Kehl: “Substitutions turned the game in our favour”

Sebastian Kehl (on Sky): “It was very emotional in the final minutes. There were a few situations that could be debated. Basically, it was good that the team equalised. In the end, there are different ways you can look at the point. Overall, we showed the desire to win the game and the substitutions we made turned the game in our favour. That's why Leipzig will probably be happy with the point. It was a clear penalty (Lukeba against Adeyemi, ed.), which should have been looked at and reviewed. I think it was the wrong decision and VAR has to intervene.”

Waldemar Anton (in the mixed zone): “In the first half, we were just a tad off it. The goals we conceded were a bit too easy. In general, we didn't have the control we wanted in the first half. I don't know if it was down to our intensity or because Leipzig played very well. In the second half, it was an open game and it could have gone either way. We came back into it and did quite well in the end. We scored the equaliser to make it 2-2 and still had the chance to make it 3-2. We want to focus on ourselves and keep picking up points.”

Gregor Kobel (on Sky):  “We conceded two frustrating goals that were both very similar, where we were caught out a bit in our own six-yard box. But in the second half, the whole team reacted very strongly and fought our way back into the game away from home. Compared to other years when we've played here, it was a good game, especially in the second half. It's a shame that we didn't win. We have to harness the emotions we felt after the equaliser.”Recorded by Boris Rupert
