Kelly Gago hands in transfer request

Everton forward Kelly Gago has reportedly handed in a written transfer request to force a move back to France.

French international Gago first joined the Toffees midway through last season and has since scored nine times in 23 games for Brian Sorensen's side.

However, last weekend's 2-0 defeat away to Manchester City could be Gago's last appearance with Sky Sports reporting that the player has now asked to leave the club.

There has been no word yet of which French sides may be interested in a move for Gago but Everton can expect to receive a fee for the 27-year-old should they decide to sell with two years currently remaining on her deal.

Everton are next in action this Thursday when they face third-tier West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup.
