Kenny McLean to Rangers is a no-brainer and always has been

Article image:Kenny McLean to Rangers is a no-brainer and always has been

Long term Rangers target Kenny McLean’s goal which secured Scotland’s passage to the USA next year only undermined what a talent the Norwich City man is. Ibrox Noise has long held polls over the potential of Rangers signing the former Aberdeen man and every single poll has been mammothly against adding him to the roster. Ibrox Noise has never agreed with this. A Premier League level player with many levels of matches at that standard who happens to be a massive Rangers fan and of course has experience of the Scottish Premiership. This would be a no-nonsense no-brainer signing and Rangers really should have made it a long time ago. Kenny McLean to Rangers is a yes.

Snobbery around Scottish players

Unfortunately like with Shankland there is a huge snobbery around Rangers fans who reject so many Scottish players believing them to be garbage. Even though back in the day this was not the case at all. Walter Smith of course used to sign many Scottish players talented players strong players and Rangers fans did not complain about the likes of David Weir Kevin Thompson Steven Naismith or Steven Whittaker. These days the snobbery is through the roof even though half of these players and teams are even better than Rangers are.

McLean as a midfield addition

But nevertheless Kenny McLean would be a solid addition. Rangers need a proper stormtrooper in midfield. We lack one. He is a strong player and of course that ridiculous goal last night against the Danes only undermined the quality of talent that he has.

Identity and likelihood

And of course as said before he is very much one of us. Rangers completely lack Rangers identity in this squad. To this day we still have absolutely no Rangers fans in our squad. Not a single one. Apart from perhaps Liam Kelly who came through the youths and eventually came back. Does he even count given he never plays? We are not sure about that one.

But adding some Rangers identity would be a wonderful thing to do. It is just not the sort of thing Rangers do these days. But yes Kenny McLean would be a definite bonus to get into the squad. Kenny McLean to Rangers is a yes. Problem is it is just never going to happen.
