Kerim Alajbegović was close to a move to Chelsea before Juventus poached him to add him to their squad this summer, and the Bosnian knows he has to deliver.

Juve signed him for a good fee, and he is training with their senior side immediately. He has now been handed more opportunities to impress because of Kenan Yildiz’s injury.

At 18, he needs time to adapt to the demands of playing for a top club like Juve, but the injury problems at the Allianz Stadium mean he has been thrown into action faster than the club had planned.

A move for him was considered a good piece of business when Juve completed it, but he has to deliver on the pitch if the Bianconeri are to enjoy the benefits of having him in their squad.

Alajbegović given chance to impress

Juve knows he can do well and is prepared to ensure that happens by providing the support he needs. With Yildiz injured, Alajbegović now has a chance to show what he can offer the team.

Luca Marrone is confident that he will succeed and believes the youngster has the qualities required to make an impact. He said via Tuttomercatoweb:

“This guy really impressed me in the games I saw him in against Bosnia. Given the current situation, and with Yildiz’s injury, I think Alajbegovic has a chance to show his true potential. He’s definitely worth a few lapses. But we’re talking about a strong player who makes the difference; he’s always a thorn in the side in one-on-one situations. The fans like him, and I’ll be rooting for him.”

Marrone backs Juventus youngster

Marrone’s comments underline the excitement surrounding Alajbegović and the belief that he can develop into an important player for Juventus.

The teenager will still need time to adjust to the demands of senior football, particularly at a club where expectations are high. However, the current circumstances have given him an opportunity to accelerate that development.

Juventus will hope he can respond positively to the challenge and show why they moved to sign him this summer. With Yildiz unavailable, Alajbegović has a chance to prove that he can contribute when the Bianconeri need him.
