Kerolin set to become Barcelona's record signing

Brazilian forward Kerolin is close to completing a record-breaking move to Barcelona in the coming days.

The Manchester City star has been keen to make the move to a Barça team that is keen to rebuild this summer after the departure of star players. However, the transfer won't be cheap with journalist Maria Tikas of SPORT reporting that Kerolin will cost the Catalan side €1.5 million (approx £1.25 million) – a move that has now been approved by the club's board.

Should that fee be confirmed then it will be both a record purchase for Barcelona, which was the signing of Keira Walsh from City for €470,000 back in 2022.

That Walsh transfer was also Manchester City's biggest transfer fee for a player with the WSL champions now able to reinvest.

Last season, Kerolin played 19 times for City in all competitions, scoring 10 times.
