Kerolin was a late substitute as Brazil progressed to the Copa America final with a 5-1 win over Uruguay.

The City forward came on with ten to play with her nation already 4-1 up in Quito.

Brazil added a fifth when Dudinha rifled home with stoppage time approaching, setting the seal on a convincing win for the reigning champions.

They had to ride their luck early on, with Wendy Carballo twice denied by Claudia after the Brazil stopper had spilled her initial volleyed effort.

But once Amanda Gutierres handed them the lead after 11 minutes with a clinical glancing header, the eight-time champions never looked back.

A second would follow just two minutes later when Gio Garbelini was first to a loose ball in the box, before Marta extended her record as Brazil's all-time top scorer with a penalty.

Uruguay continued to battle, striking the woodwork before Marta had added number three, and got themselves on the scoresheet early in the second half when Isa Haas fired into her own net while attempting to clear a corner.

But the game was put to bed just after the hour thanks to another impressive Amanda Gutierres goal, this time when she powered home a free-kick from close to 30 yards.

Kerolin was introduced soon after as her nation looked to see out the win, with Dudinha adding further gloss to the scoreline later on.

Brazil will face Colombia in the final on Saturday 2 August, with kick-off set for 22:00 (UK).

A match report will be available on mancity.com and the official Man City app on Sunday morning.
