As reported by Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt and Kevin Trapp are in talks over a new contract for the goalkeeper, but it is not proving as easy as first thought.

The issue that is preventing the contract from being signed is both parties cannot agree on the amount of money the 32-year-old will earn. Trapp’s base salary is €3.7 million, which rises to €5 million with bonuses, Frankfurt is proposing a new base salary of €2 million euros with greater bonuses, but Trapp demands more.

Previously, Trapp has rejected an offer from Manchester United while also ignoring a request from Bayern Munich to replace Manuel Neuer.

Trapp has achieved his current aim which was to play Champions League football which he has done with Frankfurt. His new focus is to be the number one for Germany at the European Championship next summer.

The 32-year-old re-joined Frankfurt in 2018 on loan from PSG after initially leaving in 2015. Since his return, Trapp has made 185 appearances for Frankfurt and was one of the key men in their Europa League win.
