FC Barcelona return to European action on Tuesday night as they take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 6 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League group phase.

With two wins and two losses from five games (1 draw), Barcelona find themselves in the 18th position in the standings, needing a lot of things to go their way in order to secure a top-eight finish.

First things first, though, the Catalans must win all of their remaining matches, starting with the tie against Eintracht tomorrow.

A big challenge awaits Joan Garcia

However, it will not be easy, as Barcelona’s performances in the UEFA Champions League, especially defensively, have not been good enough.

As such, goalkeeper Joan Garcia is set to face a major challenge ahead of Tuesday’s clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, highlights AS.

After all, Hansi Flick’s Barça have gone without keeping a clean sheet in eight consecutive Champions League matches, conceding in each of those.

Since 9 April, when Barça beat Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in the first leg of the quarter-finals last season, they have not kept a clean sheet in Europe. They have played eight consecutive matches without shutting out the opposition.

The run began with the defeat in the second leg in Dortmund (3-1), followed by the semi-finals against Inter (3-3 and 4-3). In the current season, the sequence continued in Newcastle United (1-2), PSG (1-2), Olympiacos (6-1), Club Brugge (4-4) and Chelsea (3-0).

It must be noted that Garcia finished the Real Betis match with a heavy blow that forced him to leave Estadio La Cartuja limping noticeably.

However, the 24-year-old goalkeeper trained normally today in the final session prior to the game against Eintracht Frankfurt at Camp Nou. The Spaniard is fully recovered and available for the coach.

Having already kept four clean sheets in La Liga this season, Garcia will now be targeting one in the Champions League with the aim of putting an end to Barcelona’s run of eight games without one.
