Pressure at Real Madrid has reached a boiling point after a fresh report from Defensa Central revealed that the squad privately pledged full commitment to Xabi Alonso ahead of a critical La Liga trip to Alaves.

It must be noted that the 1-2 defeat to Manchester City has sharpened the club’s internal anxieties.

Although the performance against Pep Guardiola’s side hinted at improved chemistry and intent, the loss only served to intensify scrutiny on Alonso’s leadership.

As reported before, the Real Madrid board has drawn a line in the sand, stating that failure to win the next league fixture will trigger a managerial change.

Important match for Real Madrid

Los Blancos travel to Mendizorroza on Sunday night to face Deportivo Alaves with everything to play for.

The match effectively functions as a referendum on Alonso’s future; as a result, short of three points could prompt the club to act decisively, potentially replacing the head coach by Monday.

Within the dressing room, players have vowed to reproduce the intensity shown against City and to pour every ounce of effort into salvaging the campaign.

It has been noted that, at this moment in time, replacing a manager is operationally simpler than overhauling half of the playing squad.

That cold reality, however, does not shield players from the president’s dissatisfaction.

Sources indicate Florentino Perez is deeply frustrated with the lack of impact from several high-profile stars who were expected to change games and have not done so.

The contrast between the club’s promising start to the season and the current spiral has been stark.

Statistically, Real Madrid opened the campaign strongly and looked to be evolving well under Alonso’s methods.

Yet the drop-off over the last month has been dramatic, reducing the margin for error to virtually zero.

With a draw now potentially fatal for the manager’s tenure, the squad’s vow ahead of the Alaves trip will be judged not by words but by performance on the pitch.
