Amidst a challenging evening at the FNB Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs' Gaston Sirino found himself in dire need of unwavering support from the Amakhosi faithful. The 34-year-old Uruguayan endured significant frustration from the stands during Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Marumo Gallants, especially after missing a first-half penalty and later squandering another promising chance after the interval.

Despite these setbacks, assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef was quick to leap to the experienced attacker's defense. In his post-match remarks, Youssef underscored Sirino's significance to the squad, stating, "I saw fans who were happy with Sirino when we made the substitutions, they were chanting 'Sirino, Sirino!' He is a big player, an important player for us." The Tunisian tactician also put the penalty miss into perspective, adding, "He has a wealth of experience—he's not the first and won't be the last to miss a penalty. He gave his all, but the Gallants' keeper was alert and made the save."

Although the veteran forward has found the net just once in seven appearances—a memorable strike against Richards Bay FC—the club's leadership remains steadfast in their public support of his contributions to the campaign.
