Gazzetta reports that Khéphren Thuram is to undergo knee surgery in Lyon, and could be out for at least four months.

The procedure is scheduled for Wednesday under Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, a knee specialist who has previously operated on Gleison Bremer and Federico Gatti.

The Juventus midfielder has been troubled by the knee since the end of last season and skipped pre-season. After assessment by the surgeon, all parties agreed that an operation was the best option.

Juventus face another blow after Kenan Yildiz was injured on the opening matchday.

Luciano Spalletti will therefore be without the 25-year-old France international, capped four times, until 2027.
