Celtic got back to winning ways with a 4-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Paradise today, as the Hoops picked up another three Premiership points.

Johnny Kenny fired Celtic into a first-half lead before Kieran Tierney, Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels added to the scoreline in the second half.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Tierney said that today’s win was important following on from Thursday night’s defeat in Europe.

“We were disappointed the other night,” Tierney said. “It wasn’t our best performance, so to come here today, give the fans energy and goals, and to pick up a clean sheet as well was brilliant.

“The goal was amazing. It’s my first goal since coming back and I think you could see the joy when I scored it. I’m delighted.”

Speaking alongside Tierney was today’s Man of the Match, Auston Trusty who reflected on his recent run of form and the benefits of the upcoming international break.

He added: “It’s been good. I take advantage of every opportunity. I have really good team-mates and coaching staff to help me succeed and help the team succeed so it’s been good.

“The opportunity to play for your international team and get called up, it’s a dream come true. That’s something that you always look forward to.

“It’s good for guys to go away and keep their sharpness as well.”
