Kieran Trippier ‘agrees’ Wolves move as Old Gold start summer rebuild | OneFootball

According to BBC Sport, Kieran Trippier has agreed to join Wolves on a free transfer, with a two-year contract and an option of a further 12 months.

The 2025/26 campaign has only just concluded, yet Wolves have moved quickly on their rebuild. Trippier had held talks after leaving Newcastle United at the end of his contract, with interest from other clubs and Saudi Arabia.

Today it appears Wolves have won that race, and the 35-year-old is currently on a family holiday. His medical is thought to be scheduled for next week.

It marks a positive early step for Old Gold, who have much to do this summer.

Trippier may be past his prime, but he made 18 Premier League starts for Newcastle in 2025/26 and brings leadership and versatility. His presence could be valuable in the dressing room, holding team-mates to account.

With one experienced head set to arrive, it remains to be seen whether Wolves add another soon.
