Argentine coach Kily Gonzalez was appointed Inter Miami head coach on Tuesday, continuing the club’s run of Argentine managers since Lionel Messi joined in July 2023.
The club said in a statement that Kily Martinez has taken charge on a contract running until June 2028. The announcement ends the search for Javier Mascherano’s successor.
Gonzalez, 52, embarks on his first coaching role outside Argentina, having led Rosario Central, Union Sante Fe and Platense since switching to management in 2020.
As a player, he notably featured for Valencia and Inter Milan.
During Messi’s time at the club, he played under Tata Martino in 2023-2024, one of his former Argentina national-team coaches. Javier Mascherano led in 2025-2026, a former Barcelona team-mate, with Guillermo Hoyos serving briefly as interim since mid-April.
