The German national team, led by captain Joshua Kimmich, celebrated an important away win against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League on Friday night, extending their lead at the top of Group A3. As well as Kimmich, Serge Gnabry of FC Bayern also started for Germany in Zenica, while Aleksandar Pavlović was rested and didn't feature.

The victory takes Julian Nagelsmann's men to seven points from three games, two ahead of Netherlands who drew 1-1 in Hungary in the other fixture. Germany can clinch their place in the quarter-finals already on Monday (20:45 CEST) with a win over the Oranje in Munich.

Stuttgart's Undav at the double

The visitors controlled the match from the off and took a deserved lead in the 30th minute through Deniz Undav after a smart lay-off from Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz. Six minutes later, the Stuttgart striker – who Bayern will face in their next Bundesliga meeting on 19 October – was again in the right place to make it 2-0. After the break, Germany continued to dominate but couldn't convert that into further goals, with Undav (60') and Gnabry (68') both having efforts disallowed for offside. That allowed Bosnia to reduce the deficit through Edin Džeko (70'), but Nagelsmann's side held on for a deserved win.
