Borussia Dortmund have been dealt a blow with the news concerning Guinean international Serhou Guirassy. This comes just days before the Klassiker showdown against Bayern.

After a sensational 2023-2024 season with Stuttgart (30 goals in 30 matches), Serhou Guirassy established himself as one of the world's top strikers with Dortmund last season. Continuing his impressive form this year with six goals and three assists in eight games, the Guinean international keeps shining, but now faces a setback that emerged just hours ago.

He picked up an injury while on international duty with Guinea. According to German media, Guirassy is now a doubt for the Klassiker against Bayern Munich on October 18. In its official statement, the Guinean Federation explained why Guirassy left the national team camp prematurely. "Physically diminished, Serhou Guirassy insisted on joining the national team camp in Mozambique out of love for Guinea and respect for the technical staff." the statement reads.
