Heerenveen and Ajax drew 0-0 at the Abe Lenstra Stadion, confirming the hosts in eighth and leaving the visitors fifth to close the Eredivisie campaign.

Early on, Bernt Klaverboer denied Sean Steur after Wout Weghorst's through ball. Anton Gaaei later drew another stop from the goalkeeper, while Weghorst headed narrowly off target before the break.

Klaverboer was outstanding, making six saves and claiming high balls to keep Heerenveen level. Maarten Paes impressed at the other end with four saves, plus two punches, to frustrate the home side.

After second half changes, Godenzonen carried more threat. Rayane Bounida fashioned openings from the right and Kasper Dolberg tested Klaverboer from distance, but the breakthrough never came.

In the fifth minute of second half stoppage time, Maher Carrizo's rising effort was tipped away by Klaverboer. Moments later, Jacob Trenskow fired over from a corner in one last Heerenveen push.

Heerenveen tallied 16 attempts and 10 corners, controlling 53.1% possession. Godenzonen produced 23 attempts and six corners as they pressed for a winner.

Heerenveen finish eighth on 51 points. Godenzonen conclude the season fifth with 56 points.
