Klopp urges calm after Germany’s shock defeat to Greece | OneFootball

Germany boss Jurgen Klopp took full responsibility for his side’s shock 1-0 defeat to Greece, admitting his team lacked conviction despite feeling they did enough to avoid losing.

Klopp said the result was harsh on Germany but accepted Greece executed their game plan better on the night.

“Football, that’s how it is,” Klopp told UEFA.com.

“Drawing this game tonight, I could have easily taken it, but losing, that’s harsh. I don’t think we deserved that, but it happened anyway, and here we are.

“Greece had a plan for the game tonight. We have to be more convinced about what we are doing. And in that moment, things will be good.”

The defeat represented a disappointing setback for Germany, but Klopp insisted it was part of the team’s development under him.

“It’s part of the process, absolutely,” Klopp told ARD.

“The lineup, the formation, the many changes, that is all 100% down to me.”
