Kobbie Mainoo’s future has been a big talking point at Manchester United in recent weeks.

The 20-year-old has been frustrated by his limited first-team opportunities this season.

However, Mainoo does not want to leave the Red Devils and is determined to revive his career in Manchester.

The youngster was a regular starter under previous manager Erik ten Hag, but he has been reduced to a peripheral role under Ruben Amorim.

Mainoo has featured 11 times in the Premier League this season, but all of them have come off the bench.

With Bruno Fernandes sidelined with a long-term injury, the England international would likely have started in midfield.

But he also picked up a calf issue and has missed the last three matches for United.

Amorim played down the incident, saying he would not punish the midfielder for a family member’s actions.

Mainoo is contracted with United until 2027, with the club also having an option for an additional year.

Napoli have been credited with an interest in Mainoo, but the Red Devils are unwilling to let him leave mid-season.

Mainoo may be handed the chance to shine during their absence.
