Kobel secures group victory with Switzerland

In the final group match, Switzerland and Canada were battling it out for top spot in Group B. Kobel and his teammates needed a win to progress to the round of 16 as group winners, and they secured it thanks to goals from Ruben Vargas (46) and Johan Manzambi (57). Kobel was only beaten once, as Promise David scored to make it 1-2 (76).

Switzerland will play their round of 32 match on Friday (3 July, 05:00 CEST) against a third-placed team. As with their final group match, the venue will once again be Vancouver.
