Koeman announced Netherlands squad for 2026 World Cup

The Netherlands have confirmed their final 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, with captain Virgil Van Dijk leading a talented group still chasing a first-ever world title.

Head coach Ronald Koeman has included several key names despite injury concerns in recent months. Memphis Depay recovered in time from a hamstring problem, while Jurriën Timber also made the cut despite doubts over his fitness.

There was, however, no place for Xavi Simons after the midfielder suffered an ACL injury in April, while Liverpool full-back Jeremie Frimpong was another surprise omission.

Koeman’s squad still looks packed with quality, featuring the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch and Tijjani Reijnders.

The Dutch begin their Group F campaign against Japan national football team on 14 June before facing Sweden national football team and Tunisia national football team.
