Sandro Wagner demanded his side show a new face in his press conference on Friday and the Augsburg coach got that inside two minutes in what would be a dominant 3-1 win. Wolfsburg failed to deal with Mert Kömür's delivery which found it's way to the back post for Noah-Kai Banks to finish to the roof of the net leaving Grabara no chance.

After a blistering start, chances were few and far between as the action settled into a more controlled pace after the blistering start. Approaching the half-hour, Augsburg went close again when Grabara kept Elias Saad at bay after the Tunisian attacker combined nicely with Jakic.

Augsburg were somewhat lucky to take their advantage into the dressing rooms. Mohamed Amoura was given too much space before spotting Matthias Svanberg in a similar situation. The Swedish midfielder unleashed a wonderful curling effort which left Finn Dahmen rooted but the post came to their rescue.

Similar to their quick start in the first-half, the Bavarians repeated the dose after the break. Christian Matsima retrieved possession and played a neat one-two with Robin Fellhauer before squaring to Kömür to tap home with a delightful first-time finish.

Suddenly, the club from Lower Saxony found themselves 3-0 in arrears in the 64th-minute. Some more excellent pressing from Kömür allowed the youngster to free up Fabian Rieder. The Swiss midfielder squeezed an excellent pass through to Fellhauer who curled home with his right foot beyond Grabara's fingertips.

To the relief of the travelling Wolfsburg fans, they managed to cut the deficit down to two goals with an instant response. Amoura showed a clean pair of heels to Massengo and squared for Adam Daghim to convert his first Bundesliga goal. That's how it finished at the WWK Arena with a big win to lift pressure off Wagner's shoulders.
