In order to convince him of FC Bayern despite the advanced stage of negotiations with Sevilla, coach Vincent Kompany contacted him personally in the final hours of the transfer window. Why did he still not opt for a move to the Isar? Antony: „I had agreed everything with the club [Betis], I had given them my word. Everything was decided, I couldn’t do that to myself or the club. The decision was also largely a family one. It’s a place where I’m really happy, where I feel the support of everyone who has welcomed me.“
