Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is keen on signing Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Harry Kane, according to Footmercato.

The Bavarians are reportedly preparing for Kane’s departure and Kompany wants Osimhen to replace the England international.

Osimhen was linked with Bayern and several clubs in Europe’s big five leagues before joining Galatasaray in the summer of 2024.

The Nigeria international has continued to impress at Galatasaray, winning the top scorer award in his debut season.

Osimhen is fourth on the UEFA Champions League top scorer’s chart this season with seven goals, underlining his credentials as one of Europe’s leading strikers.

The 27-year-old would be an ideal replacement for Kane, given his quality and his ability to deliver at the big stage as shown in his time with Napoli and now at Galatasaray.

That said, a move is unlikely to happen next summer, given Kane’s remarkable form. The 32-year-old has scored 45 goals across all competitions this term — the most in Europe’s top five leagues.

Kane’s fitness is also showing no signs of decline, having yet to miss any game this term.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are not in the race to sign Osimhen. His price tag and salary are considered exorbitant while manager Luis Enrique is not keen on him.

Manchester United, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid have also shown no interest in the Galatasaray striker.

However, the Saudi Pro League (SPL) are still weighing up a move for Osimhen but the striker currently prefers to remain in Europe.

Osimhen is enjoying a remarkable time at Galatasaray, and only an irresistible offer could make him leave the Turkish side.

The Nigerian is more likely to move to the SPL than Bayern or any other European heavyweights when he leaves Galatasaray.
