Transfer planning is in full swing at FC Bayern. While the signings of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari are getting closer and closer, the next big name could already be coming into focus. According to recent reports, the Munich club is taking a close look at Marcus Rashford.
FC Bayern apparently has big plans for the 2026 summer transfer window. Unlike in previous years, the Munich club wants to finalize its most important personnel decisions as early as possible and provide Vincent Kompany with a largely complete squad right at the start of preseason training.
With Nathaniel Brown of Eintracht Frankfurt and Ismael Saibari of PSV Eindhoven, two top transfer targets are currently in the home stretch. Both players have already given the record champions their commitment. Now, the main task is to iron out the final details with the selling clubs.
But Bayern’s activities may be far from over yet.
As reported by the English portal TEAMtalk, the Munich club is actively pursuing Marcus Rashford. According to the report, very positive talks have taken place in recent days between Bayern officials and the English international’s camp.
According to the report, Bayern is currently exploring the possibility of submitting an official offer to Manchester United in the near future.
The transfer fee is said to amount to around 25 million euros. While United is hoping for around 30 million euros, they are reportedly willing to compromise in negotiations. The background is that Rashford apparently no longer plays a role in the Red Devils’ sporting plans.
While the transfer fee appears quite manageable for Bayern, the real challenge lies elsewhere. Rashford is reportedly currently earning around 18 million euros per year at Manchester United. However, a salary of this magnitude hardly fits the role the Englishman would initially assume in Munich.
Following the signings of Luis Diaz and the impending transfer of Ismael Saibari, Rashford is unlikely to be automatically counted on as a starter. Accordingly, Bayern would have to hope for significant salary concessions from the attacking player.

From a sporting perspective, however, Rashford would be an excellent fit.
The 28-year-old can play on either wing, as a center forward, or even in a slightly deeper attacking role. It is precisely this flexibility that Vincent Kompany particularly values.
Rashford already impressed with strong performances last season during his loan spell at FC Barcelona. In 49 competitive matches, the Englishman was directly involved in 28 goals and demonstrated that he can continue to perform at the highest level. Nevertheless, the Catalans decided against signing the striker permanently.
A potential move to Munich is by no means a done deal, however. Several Premier League clubs are also closely monitoring the situation. Rashford could be an attractive package, particularly for English clubs, given his experience, age, and relatively modest transfer fee.
The key question remains whether Bayern, after signing Brown and Saibari, actually want to make another move in the transfer market.
Much will likely depend on the revenue Eberl can generate from player sales in the coming weeks. Potential sales of players like Sacha Boey, Bryan Zaragoza, or João Palhinha could create additional financial flexibility.
