Last night Roma fell at the Olimpico and lost the top spot in the table.

Napoli won with a goal from Davi Neres. The lead-up, however, was tainted by a dubious foul by Ami Rrhamani on Manu Koné, which was not called and not reviewed by referee Massa using VAR.

The French midfielder spoke about it after the final whistle to DAZN: “In my opinion, there was contact; he touched me.” “It was a high-ranking match decided by a detail,” Koné added.

“I think it was worth going back and reviewing the play. The referee told me it wasn’t a foul, but I think it was appropriate to go back and review it.”

The Frenchman then commented on Gian Piero Gasperini’s demands for the match. “We knew we had to look for our best attackers. Pellegrini, Soulé: top-class players up front. Today we didn’t manage it; Napoli limited us a lot. Today it didn’t work, but we gave it our all and we’ll try again.”

“It was a balanced match. Napoli deserved credit for scoring at the right time. In the second half, we had control of the game, but we weren’t able to score. We need to get back on our feet immediately; the season is still long,” said the Giallorossi number 17 in a press conference.

Despite Thursday’s injury, the Frenchman started this evening: “I gave my all. My ankle wasn’t in perfect condition, but I’m not here to make excuses. If I took the field, it was because I was feeling good. Pain is never a problem; you always play with some discomfort.”

Finally, Koné commented on the defeats in big matches: “We need to be more focused. Matches are decided on details, the ones that punished us today and against Inter and Milan. In football, you can’t always win…”
